Day 23: A letter to someone, anyone.
Dear Characters,
I have a couple things to say to you. You may live inside my mind, but you haven't been there as long as I have, so stop trying to control me. Every time another of you pops up or one of you gets bored, you start to bother me. Sometimes, I don't want to be bothered. There are times when I want to talk to you, but where are you then? Usually, those are the times I can't reach any of you. That's just a tiny bit frustrating when I know exactly where you are. I am not a fan of the silent treatment.
Also, you all like to have parties a lot. These parties seem to happen a lot when I'm busy. Are they a sort of rebellion perhaps? You get loud and invite unknown guests who try to demand my attention when I need to focus on something else. Whether that's editing, doodling, homework, or chores, you invade all the same. Exam studies quickly turn into an internal war to keep you and your noise at bay, prohibiting my work.
Despite these complaints about your qualities as tenants, you are really excellent friends. With you, I can leave my world to explore yours, strange and new. We can go on adventures no one else could dream of. Within the sanctity of my own mind, I can wield magic and daggers, swords and bows. I can be the hero, create miracles, save the world. When I'm with you, I can do anything. So for that I have to thank you.
Sincerely,
Your writer and friend,
Leandra Joselyn Gantzer
-This one was pretty fun! I mean, what writer doesn't want to talk to their characters?
